Does MUSIC cover the activities of our Athletic Booster Club return

MUSIC will only cover the parent organizations if the money flows through the school and the organization is controlled by the school board and administration. In other words the parent organization operates in a similar manner as the student activities. (i.e. student council, letterman’s club)   The parent organizations can obtain insurance through a company called PTO Today. Program information and an application are located above or you can visit their website.

What is the recommended procedure for outside organizations or groups using school facilities? return

MUSIC recommends the completion of a facility use form. In addition, the sitrict should require ONE of the following of any outisde group.

  1. Certificate of Insurance - Some groups will have insurance.  In this instance the district should request a certificate of insurance naming the school district as an additional insured. This will extend the organization's insurance to your facility.
  2. Special Events Insurance - The district can require the organization to purchase special event insurance for the specific activity which they intend to conduct on your facility.
  3. Hold Harmless greement - This is only used whn the orgranization does not have insurance and it is not feasible to purchase event insurance.  In this situation the group should complete a hold harmless agreement.  (Signed by all participants).
