Assuming a 5% increase in your district/college payrolls and property values, MUSIC is planning for a 4% increase in our rates for 2026. Storms continue to hit the State hard and the March 14, 2025 event that impacted 70 of our members was nearly 3 times the cost of our prior worst event. However, we believe our rates are near where they need to be to cover even an event of this size, so the moderate 4% rate increase is our goal. We must give the caveat, however, that we are only in May and events the rest of the year could force a change to the 4%, but for now, we believe that will be sufficient.

So, we are recommending a 9% increase for your budgets – 5% inflationary increase in your exposures, and 4% for a MUSIC rate increase.

Thank you so very much for your continued support of the program! It belongs to you and we will keep doing our best to serve you well.
